Where is my data stored?
All your resumes, job descriptions, and scores are stored locally on your Mac. Nothing is synced to the cloud.
What is an ATS score?
ATS (Applicant Tracking System) software scans resumes for keywords that match a job description. Your ATS score shows how well your resume matches a specific job posting. A higher score means a better chance of getting past the automated filter.
How do AI credits work?
AI features like bullet rewriting, resume tailoring, and AI reviews each cost 1 credit. Credits are purchased as in-app credit packs through the Mac App Store. The free ATS scoring engine does not require any credits.
Can I import an existing resume?
Yes. Click "Import Resume" on the dashboard and select a PDF or DOCX file. AI will parse your resume into structured sections (costs 1 credit). You can also create a resume from scratch for free.
How do I export my resume?
Open a resume in the editor and click "Export PDF" or "Export DOCX" in the header. Both formats are optimized for ATS compatibility: single-column layout, standard fonts, proper headings.
Can I send my resume by email from the app?
Yes. Click "Send Email" in the editor, connect your Gmail account, and send your resume with the PDF attached directly from the app. Your Gmail credentials are stored locally and you can disconnect at any time.
How do I back up my resumes?
Click "Export Backup" in the dashboard footer. This saves all your resumes, job descriptions, and scores as a single JSON file. To restore, click "Restore from Backup" and select the file.
What happens if I run out of credits?
All non-AI features continue to work: resume editing, live preview, ATS scoring, PDF/DOCX export, and backup/restore. Only AI-powered features (rewriting, tailoring, AI review, AI import) require credits.
Which platforms are supported?
ATS Resume Builder is available on macOS via the Mac App Store.
